Naomi Hutchings: Brisbane Sexologist
BA MHsc (Sexual Health)

Naomi is a Clinical Sexologist currently working in Brisbane, Queensland. Naomi has been working in the field of human sexuality for over 12 years. With a Masters of Health Science in Sexual Health from the University of Sydney and undergraduate studies in Gender and Politics, she was initially drawn to this work out of a strong desire to improve what she felt was an inadequate sexual health education and relationship curriculum but soon became passionate about the rights of all people to experience the joys of positive sexuality, sexual health & wellbeing. Naomi brings this same passion and commitment with her whether working as an activist or teaching in school or universities, public speaking, facilitating workshops, media interviews or consulting with individuals, couples and families.

Naomi has much experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and strives to understand the intersections of race, culture, ability, gender and sexuality.  Her youngest client was 6 and her oldest couple were 90. Sexology work sees her in a variety of settings such as schools, prisons, youth agencies, TAFE, Universities, health centre’s as working one on one with clients or in the couples/family context. Naomi has extensive experience working with young people, particularly those whom are LGBTIQ+ as well as years of experience working with and supporting professionals, students and parents and caregivers around how to approach topics such as growth and development, puberty, sexuality and gender.

Until July 2017 she was teaching the Sex and Sexuality Topic at Flinders University, the Coordinator of Youth Worker Education at Shine SA, working privately as a Clinical Sexologist at Attuned Psychology and doing various media commentary and guest blogging as a "Sexpert".

She currently works privately as a clinical sexologist practice in Paddington and via Skype and phone consultation.
